Craftoween 2025 – Day Five Project: Spider with Style

Day Five brought a spider die—and I knew I wanted to dress it up!

The background started with a spiderweb Better Press plate, then lightly blended with Gina K Key Lime Ink. To ground the spider, I layered arch shapes cut from black cardstock and purple patterned paper. For the spider’s body, I used pearlized black with stark white eyes.

The spider was layered with pearlized black cardstock for the body, black for the legs, and white for the eyes. I wanted the hat to have a velvety look, so I applied double-sided tape to black cardstock, die cut, and added flocking powder.  TIP: Flocking powder can be messy, but applying it with tweezers helped keep things under control.

A sentiment from the Craftoween stamp set completed the spooky yet playful design.
