Create a Fun Stamped Background Using the Totally Awesome Stamp Set for a Fast and Stylish Birthday Card

A Quick Card with Big Impact

Today I’m sharing a quick and easy birthday card featuring the Friends with Flair Collection from Hero Arts. This project is perfect for those days when you want to create something meaningful without spending a lot of time.

By focusing on a simple technique and letting your supplies do the work, you can create a card that feels both playful and polished.

Using the Totally Awesome Stamp Set

The highlight of today’s card is the Totally Awesome Stamp Set. This set is perfect for creating energetic and fun designs, especially when used for background stamping.

Instead of a focal image, I used the stamps to build a full background. This allows the card to feel cohesive while still being visually interesting.

Background Technique: Random Stamping

Random stamping is one of the easiest ways to create a custom background. Simply stamp your images (words) in a scattered pattern across your cardstock, rotating them as you go to add variety.

For this card, I used Gina K Dusty Rose ink to coordinate with the Spellbinders Color Essentials Dahlia cardstock. The tone-on-tone look adds interest without overwhelming the design.

This technique is great for beginners and experienced cardmakers alike because it requires minimal planning but delivers beautiful results.

Adding Shine with a Foiled Sentiment

To finish the card, I added a sentiment using the Spellbinders A Little Message Sentiments plate and die set.

Using Black Glimmer Foil with the Spellbinders Glimmer Machine adds a subtle shine that elevates the entire design. The contrast between the matte stamped background and the foiled sentiment creates a clean and balanced look.

Card Assembly

Once the background and sentiment were complete, I assembled the card using the following layers:

Card Base: 4.25” x 5.5”
Mat Layer: 4” x 5.25”

I adhered everything together using Bearly Arts Liquid Adhesive for a strong and clean finish.

Final Thoughts

This card is a great example of how simple techniques can create beautiful results. Random stamping paired with a bold sentiment is an easy formula you can return to again and again.
