A cheerful finale project featuring the Spellbinders House-Mouse Party Parade Collection with a quick and playful shaped card design

Wrapping Up the Mouse-House Mini Series

Today is the final of four in my Mouse-House Mini-Series featuring the new Party Parade Collection, and I could not think of a better way to wrap things up than with the Party Parade stamp itself. This collection has been such a joy to work with, and this last card perfectly captures the fun and whimsy of these adorable little mice.

A Quick and Easy Start

This project came together very quickly, which is always a bonus. I began by stamping the image using alcohol marker-friendly black ink. My go-to for this is Memento ink, which gives crisp lines and works beautifully with alcohol markers.

Coloring the Party Scene

The adorable mouse party was brought to life using Olo Markers. I kept the palette soft but playful to match the celebratory theme.

Color Combos Used:

  • Mice: C-G3, C-G5, C-G7
  • Mice accents: O7.1, O7.3, O7.7
  • Tails, belly, and feet: R5.3, R5.1, C-G1
  • Balloons and hats: B2.4, B2.2, BG2.3, BG2.4, G0.1, G0.4

The mix of cool and warm tones really helped give dimension while keeping everything cohesive and festive.

Creating the Oval Layers

Once the coloring was complete, I used the Essential Stylish Oval set to cut out the main image panel. I also cut a coordinating base layer one size larger using the same die set to create a clean, polished frame.

Shaped Card Base Technique

For the card base, I used that same larger oval die to create a shaped card. To do this, I folded my cardstock and positioned the die slightly over the folded edge so it would not cut all the way through. This creates a hinged shaped card base, which adds such a fun and unique touch.

Finishing Touches

Before assembling, I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base, centering it over the Party Parade scene.

The colored panel was then adhered to the coordinating cardstock layer, and the entire piece was attached to the shaped card base using liquid adhesive.

This card was super quick, incredibly fun to make, and such a perfect way to finish off this mini series.

A Sweet Series Finale

I hope you have enjoyed this House-Mouse Party Parade Collection mini-series as much as I have enjoyed creating it. These designs are full of charm and make it so easy to create something special in a short amount of time.
