House-Mouse Spa Day Card | Spellbinders House-Mouse Party Parade Collection Cardmaking Inspiration
A relaxing spa-themed handmade card featuring the House-Mouse Spa Day stamp set from the Spellbinders House-Mouse Party Parade Collection

Day Two of the House-Mouse Party Parade Mini Series

Welcome back to Crafty Cornerstones. Today’s card is part of day two in my mini-series featuring the adorable Spellbinders House-Mouse Party Parade Collection. These sweet images are full of personality and make such fun focal points for handmade cards.

For today’s project I worked with the House-Mouse Spa Day stamp set to create a lighthearted card that is perfect for encouraging someone to slow down and pamper themselves.

Coloring the House-Mouse Spa Scene

The House-Mouse Spa Day image was stamped onto Classic White Cardstock using Memento Black Ink, which is my preferred ink when working with alcohol markers.

I colored the image using Olo Markers and the following shades:

  • O4.0 – Face and feet
  • B2.0 – Bubbles
  • C-G3 and C-G5 – Mouse
  • C-G1 – Shadow
  • B2.6 and B2.3 – Tub
  • Zero – Used to lighten the bubbles on the tub

Once the coloring was complete, the panel was die cut using the A2 sized die from the Perfect Touch Rectangles and Tags set.

Creating the Soft Framed Background

To create a playful spa-like background, I started with Seaside cardstock and stamped the bubble images from the stamp set all across the panel.

One thing I really love about this set is that it includes coordinating bubble stamps. Little additions like that make it so easy to build custom backgrounds.

The bubbles were stamped in a random pattern using Aqua Sky Ink from Concord and 9th.

Once the background stamping was finished, I created a frame by cutting the panel using both the Perfect Touch Rectangles and Tags Dies and the Precision Layering A2A Die Set. I saved the inside piece for another project.

Adding the Sentiment

The sentiment was stamped onto Classic White Cardstock using black ink. I lightly blended Aqua Sky ink from Concord and 9th over the panel to soften it and trimmed it down to size.

To assemble the card, the sentiment strip was tucked slightly behind the top of the frame and secured in place.

The frame was then centered over the colored image panel and adhered to it.

Finishing the Card

To complete the design, the entire image panel and frame were adhered to an A2 card base using liquid adhesive.

This design came together quickly and really lets the adorable House-Mouse image take center stage.

I hope you are enjoying this mini-series featuring the new House-Mouse Party Parade Collection. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see the next project in the series.
