Today’s Spellbinders Advent surprise was a beautiful floral die set, and it could not have arrived at a better time. I am always in need of Get Well Soon cards, so this set immediately inspired a soft, comforting floral design that could be used for many occasions.

For this card, I created a full vase of flowers. To make the bouquet look fuller and more custom, I pulled in a few extra elements from the Field Notes Wildflowers Etched Dies. The added wildflowers and greenery really helped me achieve the fullness and coverage I was hoping for.
Building the Vase and Floral Bouquet
The vase was die cut from white glitter cardstock using the Essential Stylish Ovals Die Set. This created a simple yet elegant base that adds just a bit of sparkle without overwhelming the design.
Next, I cut all of the flowers and leaves from assorted Spellbinders cardstock colors including Lavender, Fairy Tale, Lilac, Orchid, Mulberry, Fern, Rainforest, Cascade, Celestial, and Peridot. If you love these colors but are not sure which packs to invest in first, I highly recommend starting with the Full 48 Colorwheel Cardstock Pack. It is a great way to sample the full range before committing to the colors you reach for most often.
Once all the floral pieces were assembled, I arranged them inside the vase and lightly secured them with tape to hold everything in place while I finalized the layout. After I was happy with the arrangement, I adhered everything permanently.
Creating a Textured Background
For the background of the card, I used an A2 size piece of Craft Cardstock and the Woven Embossing Folder. The texture was beautiful on its own, but I wanted just a bit more depth. I lightly swiped Dark Chocolate ink from Gina K Designs across the raised areas to bring out the woven pattern and add subtle dimension.
After placing the vase full of flowers onto the embossed panel, I felt the design still needed something to help ground the arrangement. Vellum turned out to be the perfect solution. It allows the background to show through while giving the vase a visual base. I used the Labels 17 Die Set to cut the vellum shape.
Adding the Sentiment
The final touch was the Get Well Soon banner. I used the banner die from The Snow Notes Die Set along with a sentiment from the Fill My Heart Stamp Set. To make the sentiment fit perfectly, I placed the stamp in my stamping platform and gently curved it to match the banner shape. Then I stamped and die-cut the sentiment.
Final Assembly
Once all the pieces were ready, assembly was quick and easy:
- The embossed A2 panel was adhered to the A2 card base.
- The vase was attached to the center of the vellum.
- Adhesive was placed only behind the flowers and vase on the vellum so it would not show through.
- The Get Well Soon banner was added to the base of the vase to finish the design.
I absolutely love how versatile this floral die set is and I can already see it being used for sympathy cards, birthdays, and even spring celebrations. Once again, compliments to Spellbinders on a beautifully designed and flexible advent release. I would love to hear how you plan to use this die set in your own crafting.
