Vintage Vibes Gift Tag Hop | Holiday Craft Inspiration

Welcome to this month’s Gorgeous Gift Tags hop. Our theme is Vintage Vibes, and today I’m sharing a pair of elegant Victorian Christmas gift tags created with printable clip art and layered die cuts. The full hop list can be found on my Instagram Page

Even though I don’t have a lot of traditional vintage supplies, digital art made it easy to get the look I wanted.

Finding the Perfect Vintage Christmas Images

To achieve a classic Victorian look, I turned to the Sande’s Poema Community for printable artwork. Sande offers a beautiful library of digital images free to her Facebook group members, plus even more for newsletter subscribers (for personal use only).

I especially loved the Victorian Christmas Clip Art collection. It was tough choosing just a couple of images, so don’t be surprised if you see more projects with this set soon.

Resizing Digital Art for Gift Tags

To size everything properly, I used Canva. Sande has a helpful step-by-step video in her group that shows exactly how to resize the images there. It was easy to follow even for someone who doesn’t use Canva often.

Adding a Vintage Finish

I printed the artwork at home in color on high-quality white cardstock. To give the white paper a more aged look, I used Gina K Designs Skeleton Leaves ink. It added just the right amount of warm tint while keeping image details crisp and clear.

Layering with Stylish Oval Dies

All the images were cut with the Spellbinders Essential Stylish Ovals die set. To frame the artwork, I added coordinating ovals in red and gold foil cardstock. The foil cardstock had a brown backing, so I also cut a matching oval in white and ink-blended the edges for a cohesive vintage feel.

Sentiments that Shine

I used a couple of different sentiment techniques:

Santa Tag:
Gina K Designs Christmas Cheer stamp and die set
Stamped with Faded Brick ink to match Santa’s suit

Snowman Tag:
Crafter’s Companion Contemporary Holiday Sentiments foil transfer kit
(Discontinued, but found on SimplySpecialCrafts.com)
Great alternative options available at Pink & Main (Adhesive transfers, no heat required)

Final Thoughts

These vintage Christmas gift tags were so fun to create and a reminder that digital art can instantly expand your craft options. If you haven’t tried using Canva to customize images for projects, I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s simple, flexible, and opens up endless design possibilities.
