How to Create a Subtle yet Stunning Embossed Valentine’s Card with Kat Scrappiness

If you’re like me, there’s always that one technique that you keep forgetting about but absolutely love when you finally use it again. For me, it’s embossing with a stencil. It creates such a beautiful, textured effect that instantly elevates a card. And for this Valentine’s Day, I decided to incorporate it into a simple yet eye-catching design using some fabulous products from Kat Scrappiness. Let me walk you through how I made this charming card, with subtle elements that really make it stand out.

The Embossing Technique

For this card, I used the Kat Scrappiness Love Doodles Stencil to create a subtle, embossed background. This stencil has such fun, doodled hearts and designs that add just the right amount of texture and depth to the card. The key to this effect is using the dry embossing technique, you’re able to create a soft, raised background without adding a ton of extra layers.

Adding Subtle Detail with the Stitched Rope Nested Circles

Now, we all know that subtle details can make a world of difference in card making. For this project, I used the Stitched Rope Nested Circle Dies to add some unique charm. Instead of using the circle cutouts themselves, I opted to use the negative space of the die-cut to create a fun window effect. The slight wavy edge of the circles—thanks to the rope detail—added a soft, textured border that perfectly complements the design without overwhelming the card. It’s these small details that really make this card stand out!

The Final Touch: Embossed Edge Heart Craft Dies

To finish the card, I incorporated the Embossed Edge Heart Craft Dies. These dies give a delicate, embossed heart shape that ties everything together beautifully. The embossed hearts act as the perfect focal point, making the card feel heartfelt and personal.
