A Perfect Time to Craft Design Team Project Featuring Printed Floral Image
A Simple Card with Beautiful Impact
Today’s project is a quick and elegant Mother’s Day card that comes together beautifully using a printed digital image. For the monthly challenge, I created it for the A Perfect Time to Craft design team. I wanted to show how easy it is. Creating something meaningful doesn’t need much effort. You don’t need a large stash of supplies for this.
Digital images are such a fun and often overlooked way to craft. They allow you to create stunning cards quickly while still giving you plenty of room for creativity.

Starting with the Digital Image
I began by selecting a floral image from the Gill’s Captive Florals Part 2 set from Anne Constantly Carding. After choosing my image, I printed it in full color. I used the highest quality setting on my laser printer to make sure all the details were crisp and vibrant.
Once printed, I used an oval layering die set (mine is from Waffle Flower) to cut out the image. I intentionally offset the design slightly to the left side of the oval to leave space for stamping the sentiment.
Choosing the Perfect Sentiment & Ink
The floral image has a soft, delicate feel. I didn’t want to use black ink because it can sometimes feel too bold. Instead, I pulled out my ink swatches. I selected a coordinating color—Powder Blue from Gina K Designs. It complemented the florals beautifully.
Using a sentiment from Creative Worship’s A Mother’s Love stamp set, I stamped my greeting next to the image. I used my stamping platform for precise placement.
Adding Layers & Texture
To create dimension, I cut a second oval from a brushed foil cardstock in my stash. I sized it one layer larger than the main image. This provided a subtle but elegant frame.
I embossed a piece of light pink cardstock for the background. I used the Spellbinders February 2026 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. This added a soft texture that coordinates perfectly with the floral tones. After embossing, I trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5.25″.
Assembling the Card
With all the elements ready, I assembled everything onto a standard A2 card base. The layered oval, soft embossing, and gentle color palette combined beautifully. These elements created a lovely Mother’s Day card with minimal effort.
