Pink and Main Day 14 Advent 2025 features a beautiful Stargazer Lily stamp brought to life with vibrant alcohol marker coloring and classic cardmaking layers.
Pink and Main Day 14 Advent – Sending Love
Pink and Main Day 14 Advent 2025 delivered a gorgeous Lily stamp featuring a Stargazer Lily — one of my absolute favorite flowers. Stargazer lilies grow in so many stunning colors and they never fail to bring a smile to my face.
At my old home, I had an entire garden bed filled with Stargazer Lilies, and every year I eagerly waited for them to bloom. The bright orange ones were always my favorite and never failed to take my breath away. For this card, I decided to recreate that vibrant orange look.
Stamping and Embossing the Lily Image
I began by stamping both the image and sentiment onto white cardstock using black ink. After that, I restamped everything with embossing ink and added clear embossing powder.
Even when I am using an alcohol marker–friendly ink, I find that this extra step really helps prevent smearing and keeps the stamped lines crisp while coloring.
Coloring the Stargazer Lilies
For the coloring, I used alcohol markers from three different companies. Don’t be afraid to mix and match brands to achieve the look you want — it can really expand your color options.
Markers used:
- Olo: YO 2.3
- Ohuhu: YR892 and YR792
(Ohuhu has updated their marker coding system; be sure to check their website for the conversion tool.) - Altenew: G743, G735, and G713
Most Stargazer Lilies have small dark spots on the petals. My orange lilies always had black spots, so I added those using a black glaze pen. I chose a glaze pen so the black dots would match the shine of the heat-embossed lines.
Die Cutting and Layering
Once the coloring was complete, I used the Spellbinders Essential Oval Die Set to cut out the lily image. I then used the next size up oval to cut a mat from black cardstock.
The sentiment was trimmed into approximately a ½-inch-wide strip, and I added a black cardstock layer behind it for contrast.
Creating the Card Background
For the main background, I used Saffron Cardstock from Spellbinders and embossed it with the Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder from Altenew. The texture adds great interest while still letting the bold focal image shine.
Final Card Assembly
To finish the card, I layered the two oval pieces together, as well as the sentiment layers. The sentiment was tucked behind the oval and positioned on the left side of the card.
Once I was happy with the placement, I adhered both elements to the yellow brick wall panel and trimmed the excess sentiment strip so it was even with the edge of the panel. The entire panel was then secured to an A2 card base.
Finished Card Thoughts
I absolutely love the vibrancy of this card. It is bright, cheerful, and full of warmth. That said, I can easily imagine this Lily stamp in many different colors and for so many occasions.
Fun fact — lilies were my flower of choice for my wedding, which makes this stamp even more special to me.
